CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN                                                                       

Position Summary: Routinely monitors, tests, and calibrates inspection instrumentation, devices, and gauges to ensure proper function and accuracy accomplished by following Schmiede Calibration Manual SC 2001 along with other means as necessary or required.

Essential Functions

  • Communicates with supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
  • Logs and maintains record of all measuring devices.
  • Routinely inspects and maintains all instruments, devices, and gauges to ensure proper function and accuracy.
  • Orders repair for any instrument, device, or gauge not properly functioning correctly.
  • Complies with established policy, safety standards, and quality procedures to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains database of company and employee-owned inspection tools.
  • Keeps work area clean and in safe condition to promote efficiency and safety.

Minimum Requirements

Training and Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum four years trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship.

Physical Demands:  The employee is required to:

  • stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor
  • exert at a minimum 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • weight, force or shape of object may require the use of overhead crane or lifting assist

Working Conditions:  Normal office environment and industrial worksite including but not limited to noise from operating machines, moving equipment or moving machine parts, objects that may have sharp edges or burrs, machine shop related chemicals that may require restricted handling and proper use of PPE.

 

CNC Grinding Machinist                                                                  

Job Description:

  • Setup and operate CNC grinding machines
  • Monitor and control the machine operation to produce a quality part
  • Read and understand part prints, job instructions, and work instructions
  • Understands feed rates, grinding speeds, grinding wheel size, shape, and grade
  • Use gages and calipers to manually check part dimensions and tolerances

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficient reading and understanding part prints, geometric dimensions, and tolerances
  • Detail oriented
  • Aerospace experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

CNC Machinist                                                                       

Job Description:

  • Setup and operate single or multi-spindle CNC machines
  • Monitor and control the machine operation to produce a quality part
  • Read and understand part prints, job instructions, and work instructions
  • Understand tooling adjustments, cutting speeds, cut depth, and tooling required
  • Use gages and calipers to manually check part dimension and tolerance

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficient reading and understanding part prints, geometric dimensions, and tolerances
  • Detail oriented
  • Aerospace experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
