Grinding & Jig Boring

   Schmiede Corporation's grinding department is one of the best equipped in the Southeast with higly skilled professionals using the latest inspecion equipment such as CMMs, Talyrond roundness & profile gaging and various Marposs air gages. Tolerances held to within 0.000050" are common in our temperature controlled environment on hard alloys and super alloys. We have over 40 CNC & conventional cylindrical and surface grinders kept in excellent condition by our Machine Tool Repair division using laser interferometry and Ballbar systems. Periodic calibrations of machines and instrumentation conform to National Institute of Standards & Technology.

   For the most precise hole boring and grinding, we have two jig boring/grinding machine tools. These machines are house in a temperature controlled environment that insures holding consistent tolerances in the 0.0002" range and 0.001" true position.
